Gulbern Manor House (Gulbēres muiža) is situated in the picturesque, hilly landscape of Livonia, between the villages of Vecpiebalga (Old Pebalg) and Madona (Modohn). The current manor house was constructed around 1900. Extensive reconstructions were carried out in the second half of the 20th century. Of the outbuildings, for which a hotel project was proposed in 2012, only the ruins of the barn remain.
In 1822, Landrat von Budenbrok separated two new manors from Meselau Manor – Gulbern and Grave. From 1866, the manor was owned by Rembert Friedrich Arthur Schoultz-Ascheraden.
The manor house, built around 1900, was probably designed by the architect H. Elpers. The brick H-shaped, one-story longitudinal building was richly decorated, featuring two symmetrically arranged wings, ornamented risalites, mezzanines, pilasters, and decorative silhouettes. Of the original ensemble of buildings, only the barn ruins and the foundations of the greenhouse remain.
The park is overgrown, and an old apple orchard requires maintenance.
