The manor complex is situated in a picturesque location on the shore of Lake Durbes. The first mention of the manor was in the middle of the 14th century. The order knight Winrich von Rummel was the first verifiable feudal lord of the manor. The von Rummel family owned the estate until 1637.

After that, the estate of about 2000 hectares changed owners several times. At the end of the 18th century, Hermann Friedrich Bordehl, who was elevated to the imperial nobility by Emperor Franz II in 1800 as "von Bordelius", acquired Ligutten. He is also considered to be the builder of the present manor house, built in 1814. The last owner before the Latvian land reform was Reinhold von Bordelius (1864-1923).

The elongated one-story building has 13 axes and a high gable roof, which is lit by several dormers. The wing facing the lake side, also one-story, was added in 1824/27. Both facades have four-column porticos with Ionic columns.

The representative 9-axis estate administrator's house is also preserved. The former manor buildings standing on the right side of the courtyard are dilapidated, or already deteriorating.

Renovation work was carried out on the manor house from 2019. Among other things, the house received a new roof.

The total area of the property is 35.554 ha and consists of 5 land units. The land has an irregular shape, the largest part of which is occupied by the former park, which has an area of 6.6 ha and merges into a forest park of 22.6 ha on the eastern shore of Durbes Lake. In the park there are many old and large native trees - beech, sycamore and oak.
