The first documented mention of the village dates back to 1330 with the reference to the residence of Jakob von Redwitz zu Redwitz in Hain. In 1395, Ulrich I. von Künsberg-Wernstein acquired the manor. Adolph August von Künsberg had the castle chapel built in 1668, which later received parish rights. The first castle was built in 1711, followed by a new Baroque-style castle in 1774.

By the late 18th century, Hain consisted of 19 estates. Judicial authority was partially held by the manors of Hain, Küps, and Unterlangenstadt-Burkersdorf, who had obligations to the Bamberg Centamt Weismain. The manorial lordship belonged to the Hain estate. Landowners included:

  • The Hain manor (15 estates: 3 farms, 1 tenant farm, 1 small farm, 8 smallholdings, 2 houses),
  • The Küps manor (1 farmstead, 1 tenant farm, 1 house),
  • The Unterlangenstadt-Burkersdorf manor (1 estate).

Additionally, the castle, administrative building, tenant house, and brewery house were manorial properties directly under the Hain estate, along with a church and a schoolhouse. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hain_(Küps)
