Architecture secret tips for visitors to the Polish capital
The main building of the Technical University in Warsaw (Gmach Główny Politechniki Warszawskiej), along with the Zachęta Gallery, must rank among the most opulent projects of Warsaw architect Stefan Szyller. The centerpiece of the secular building, completed around 1899, is the assembly hall shown here with its three-story atrium.Unlike the Warsaw palaces, the monumental building survived the Second World War without immense damage. The building impressively combines elements of classicism, Italian renaissance and neo-baroque and is certainly one of the architectural sights of Warsaw's city center - albeit less known overall in terms of tourism. It can be freely entered during the study period.
By the way, the Warsaw University of Technology has been one of the most prestigious places of study in Poland for many years without interruption.
