Manor house for sale: A Coruña

Pazo de Brandaliz is a Galician manor ("pazo") of the 16th century situated on the outskirts of Santa Marta de Ortigueira, just over a kilometre from Morouzos Beach. The walled gardens extend to 8,000 m²; the built area covers approximately 900 m², comprising the main house, a private chapel, a panera, pavilions and viewing points.

This house was designed by a physician and former mayor of Ferrol. His intention was to promote hygiene practices among the population and to advance preventive medicine. He was also reputed to be an expert in the treatment of epilepsy. Originally built in the early 20th century as a sanatorium, the building later became his private residence and is currently abandoned.
