Manor house in Saxony, cultural monument of architectural-historical importance
Ammelgoßwitz is a small neighboring community of the small Saxon town of Belgern-Schildau. In the village there is a neo-baroque manor house from the beginning of the 20th century, known regionally as Schlenker'sches Gut. The Schlenker family was an estate-owning family in Saxony with several estates in the surroundings of Torgau. The interior retains period elements, including historic doors, various wood paneling and built-in furniture, and a simple but beautiful staircase with a gallery and skylight.
Hotelier, developer and historic estate specialist Manfred Achtenhagen discusses the future of manor houses across Northeastern Germany and the Baltic states in an era of transition.
A restored 15th-century Galician manor in the heart of Ribeira Sacra. Featuring traditional granite architecture and a private wine cellar, this historic estate remains a rare, intact example of regional heritage.
