This solid brick farmhouse is peacefully situated on a wooded field island, within sight of the traditional linear village along the road. The house was completely rebuilt in traditional construction style using original historic hard-fired bricks and based on the original plans of the old farmhouse. Construction was completed in 1997.
Entering through the front door at the terrace, you step into the entrance hall with fireplace and an open view up to the second level, which is reached via a wide freestanding wooden staircase. To the left of the staircase is the cozy living room overlooking the garden. From the entrance hall, you also access the country kitchen with an additional separate room, the spacious bathroom with corner bathtub and shower, and the workshop with access to the cellar.
The upper level consists of a generous open loft space with two opposing dormer windows along the gallery sides, as well as a study area and a sleeping area at the gable ends.
The large property includes a sturdy woodshed for firewood storage and a traditional earth cellar. A meadow with a natural orchard and mature trees completes the estate.

Heading north across the lagoon meadows, it is approximately 2 miles to the water. The coastal resort of Mönkebude, with its fine sandy beach and small marina, can be reached by bicycle in about 15 minutes. The town of Anklam is accessible in 20 minutes by car via the B109 federal road.
History
The original farmhouse was acquired in 1980 by a passionate sailing couple from Berlin who used the nearby marina on the lagoon for boating excursions. The couple, a graduate civil engineer and a graphic designer, decided to completely rebuild the old structure from the ground up in traditional construction style.
The solid masonry with its characteristic arched windows was built using the original hard-fired bricks. The house stands on entirely renewed concrete foundations with a horizontal moisture barrier. A concealed reinforced concrete ring beam ensures the secure anchoring of the wall plates of the new rafter roof. The thatched roof was executed in the traditional Western Pomeranian technique, meticulously hand stitched and particularly durable.
The thatched roofing provides a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. Thanks to the low thermal conductivity of reed, heating costs are significantly reduced, naturally cool in summer and pleasantly warm in winter.
