Renaissance Castle in Lower Silesia – Renovation Needed, Versatile Use

Manor and park complex located in Wilków Wielki (formerly "Schloss Groß Wilkau") in the municipality of Niemcza, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The manor offers a total usable area of 2,051 m² and is situated on a 4-hectare plot, which includes a small adjacent park.

The castle was constructed on the site of an older fortification and has been rebuilt multiple times over the centuries. It is a three-story plastered brick building with a rectangular layout, featuring protruding side risalites, a facade adorned with articulated pilasters, and striking Renaissance gables. The attic has been converted for use.

Some of the windows, though beautifully decorated, no longer follow their original arrangement. The interior is divided into two wings, and historic features from the original construction period have been preserved. These include a sandstone portal from the 15th century, a barrel-vaulted entrance hall, historic doors, stucco ceilings, and fireplaces.

The building most recently served as residential apartments and now requires extensive restoration. Once renovated, the castle offers versatile usage possibilities, such as a hotel or cultural venue.
