"Villa Glückauf" - Grand historic house in Kudowa-Zdrój

"Villa Glückauf" is located in the Silesian spa town of Kudowa-Zdrój (known as Bad Kudowa until 1945, County of Glatz), approximately 3 miles from the Czech border.

Kudowa-Zdrój is an established spa resort with several mineral springs and numerous sanatoria, villas, and cure houses dating from the turn of the 20th century. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was among the town's notable visitors.

The architecturally ornate villa was built in 1894 as an upscale guest house, originally operating on a seasonal basis during the summer months. It was considered one of the most distinguished establishments in Kudowa and the wider Glatz region. The initials of the original owner, Carl Sachs, are preserved above the main entrance. The building is in sound overall condition; the interiors require full modernization depending on the intended use.

The villa occupies a prominent position on the main street in the center of Kudowa-Zdrój and is one of the defining buildings of the town. Health and wellness tourism remains the town's primary economic sector to this day.
