Mühlberg Castle is a hidden Renaissance architectural gem, built on the remains of a 13th-century medieval fortress. The castle has hosted notable figures, including Emperor Charles IV, and was the site of the Battle of Mühlberg, a landmark event in the Reformation. Located on the northern bank of the Elbe River between Torgau and Riesa, at a strategic crossroads between Saxony, Brandenburg, and the former Kingdom of Bohemia, the castle holds great historical significance. Mühlberg Castle, together with the town, is an important icon of Germany’s architectural heritage, owing to its history, architectural qualities, and scenic location.

In 2024, cracks were identified in certain areas, prompting temporary access restrictions. A complementary geotechnical and foundation study, to be completed by November 2025, will define the path for targeted restoration work. Previously, architectural, structural, and timber condition surveys were conducted, resulting in a comprehensive Master Plan approved by the heritage authority. Construction licenses have also been secured.

For the future owner, this presents a major advantage: all critical studies are complete, the restoration strategy is clearly defined, and the necessary approvals are in place. The costs of these studies and licenses are included in the final price, saving both time and resources.

Due to considerations of cost, time, and distance, our group has decided to sell the castle. Although the building has deteriorated over time, significant progress has already been made, which will enable the future owner to easily move forward with their own development project.
