Historic estates for sale: Courland

The first mention of Iģenes muiža dates back to 1397. At that time, Iģenes was part of the large Alt-Odern estate owned by the von Torck family. From a court record of 1672, it is known that the holder of Iģenes and Sarzene was Gerhard von Torck. One of his heirs sold Iģenes on 24 June 1745 to Alexander von den Brincken for 45,000 florins.

Grenču Manor – Grenču Muiža – was first mentioned in historical records in 1464. In 1802, the Tsar of Russia gifted Grenču to the Knights of Courland, and it remained under the administration of the Courland Knightly Order until 1912. The last resident of the manor was Leo von Bach. The manor house was built in 1870 according to plans by Theodor Heinrich Seyler.

Ohseln Manor -Ozolu muiža- is located in the heart of Courland, just 19 kilometers from Kuldiga and its famous waterfall. A paved road leads directly to the estate. The manor house is situated on a small hill, offering a beautiful view of the park and pond from its garden side.

In the archives of the Courland Knighthood, Rudden first appears in 1492 when the Bishop of Pilten granted the estate to the von Amboten family. Over the centuries, ownership of the estate changed frequently until 1819, when it came into the possession of the Barons von Fircks after the marriage of Lieutenant Karl von Fircks to the then-owner, Agnes von Sacken.

The manor complex is situated in a picturesque location on the shore of Lake Durbes. The first mention of the manor was in the middle of the 14th century. The order knight Winrich von Rummel was the first verifiable feudal lord of the manor. The von Rummel family owned the estate until 1637. After that, the estate of about 2000 hectares changed owners several times.

Wormsahten estate is located in one of the most picturesque regions of Courland, nestled between the Embute hills and the Venta River valley. The Wormsahten manor lies about 1 km from Nīkrāce, on the left bank of the Šķērvele River. The property is traversed by the fastest river in Courland, the Šķērvelis, which was also declared the cleanest river in Latvia in 2009.
