Schloss Lindach traces its origins to a medieval castle that is believed to have already existed during the reign of Duke Frederick II of Swabia. The first documented reference to the village of Lindach dates back to 1331. The castle was part of a chain of hilltop residences in the Fils, Rems, and Lein valleys. The square tower, with well-preserved foundations, reveals multiple construction phases. The transformation into a manor house took place during the Laymingen period between 1580 and 1690. In 1929, the northern wing was remodeled, and in 1959 the entire estate underwent renovation. From 2015 to the present, ongoing modernization measures have been carried out, including upgrades to windows, bathrooms, heating systems, kitchen, and interior finishes.

The estate comprises five buildings:

  1. The main castle building offers a total floor area of approximately 1,026 m². The basement houses a vaulted cellar. The ground floor (approx. 170 m²) includes a kitchen, auxiliary and administrative rooms, as well as telephone and heating infrastructure. The first floor (approx. 170 m²) features seven rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The second floor (approx. 367 m²) extends over a spacious living, dining, and kitchen area in the southeastern wing, along with two dining halls and four additional rooms with bathrooms and toilets in the northern wing. The third floor (approx. 319 m²) contains 13 rooms, each with shower and toilet facilities. Two staircases and an elevator provide access to all levels.
  2. The medical/practice building was constructed in 1969 southwest of the castle in solid construction and offers a total floor area of approximately 395 m² across three levels. The basement (approx. 131 m²) contains treatment rooms and a boiler room. The ground floor (approx. 133 m²) comprises a reception hall, treatment rooms, and ancillary spaces. The attic level (approx. 131 m²) includes six apartments with shower/WC as well as three additional rooms.
  3. The spa/clinic building was constructed in 1965 and expanded in 1985, with a total area of approximately 508 m². The ground floor (approx. 268 m²) includes multiple rooms, predominantly with en-suite shower/WC facilities. The attic level (approx. 240 m²) contains seven rooms and three apartments, each with shower/WC.
  4. Two greenhouses with a combined area of approximately 2,421 m² are equipped with water connections; one of them is prepared for electrical and heating systems. A carriage house (approx. 202 m²), fitted with water and electrical installations, serves as storage for vehicles and equipment.

The property is located on the western edge of Lindach, a district approximately 5 km northeast of Schwäbisch Gmünd and about 50 km east of Stuttgart. Road access is provided via the B29 to the A7 motorway, as well as via the Stuttgart–Aalen railway line. The property borders agricultural land and forest areas.
