The Abandoned Waddington Mansion

Ruins of the once magnificent Waddington Villa

In Saint-Germain-sur-Avre, in the French region of Normandy, the first water-powered spinning mill was built at the end of the 18th century by the Scottish industrialist Henry Sykes. His only daughter Grace married the French statesman William Waddington. At the beginning of the 19th century, the couple had a representative villa built in the Empire style.

A view inside the villa.
