The Beretta-Treves Villa on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Belgirate was built in 1780 by the Milanese merchant family Beretta. Over time, it passed into the hands of several notable owners, including Domenico Pino, a general under Napoleon Bonaparte, the noble families Fontana and Biscaretti di Ruffia, and the Milanese publisher Emilio Treves. The villa is also regionally known as a meeting place for intellectuals and writers such as Gabriele D’Annunzio, Edmondo De Amicis, and Giovanni Verga.
The property is located in the center of Belgirate, directly opposite the harbor, set within a park landscaped in the English style with mature trees. The villa is conveyed fully furnished. An extensive renovation was completed in 2013.
