Beautiful country mansion/palazzo with park in Marsciano

Historic palace (castle) in Marsciano/Umbria, with a total area of 1,000 m² and a total plot of 3 hectares.

The house, with a long straight avenue driveway, is a fine example of an 18th century Italian country castle. The main building is characterized by an H-shaped plan with a higher central part surmounted by a turret.  This, together with the rear wings, forms the original core, to which the garden wings were added in 1790. The wing on the west side extends into the body of the lemon house. It dates from an earlier period and was connected to the rest of the building only in 1852. The carriage entrance, surrounded by colonnades, provides covered and direct access to the living quarters via a wide staircase.

The outdoor facilities date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The Italian style garden with octagonal fountain in the middle of the crossroads is divided into four flower beds. The trees planted at the end of the 19th century (pines, palms, Lebanon cedars) have changed the appearance of the garden and in some places no longer correspond to the original design. In this area there is also an outbuilding of about 460 m², while in front of the lemon house, in an area of about 570 m², there is a square palm garden divided into four sections, which in turn are divided into four flower beds with a central fountain.

The front part of the garden looks more natural; it is characterized by a natural watercourse Fosso di Paterno. The watercourse flows into an octagonal fish pond crossed by a footbridge. The footbridge gives access to the central island, crowned by a small tower.
