Unknown Loire castles: Château de Bon-Hôtel

Château de Bon-Hôtel - an unmistakably French building - is a neo-renaissance castle and is one of the lesser known landmarks in the world-famous Loire Valley. It is located south of the Loire River in a forest area near Ligny-le-Ribault.

The castle is private property and cannot be visited. However, with a bit of luck the gate is open and the janitor has approved entering the property.

Although it looks a bit like an abandoned haunted castle in the photo, Château de Bon-Hôtel is in good condition and is used privately.
