In 1802, the Tsar of Russia gifted Grenču to the Knights of Courland, and it remained under the administration of the Courland Knightly Order until 1912. The last resident of the manor was Leo von Bach. The manor house was built in 1870 according to plans by Theodor Heinrich Seyler.
