Castle in Upper Silesia on 9-Hectare Park Estate

Palace and park in Zakrzów were built around the turn of the 20th century for Count Larisch, whose family had managed the estate since the 1830s. 

The property consists of the main building and more than 9 hectares of parkland, featuring mature trees, protected natural monuments and well-maintained gardens. The entire estate is listed in the heritage register of the Opole Voivodeship. 

The castle is a plastered brick building with a rectangular footprint, corner projections, a mansard roof and understated facade detailing. It offers approximately 1,565 m² of usable floor space, distributed across a raised basement, ground floor, upper floor and a converted attic. The floors are constructed with wooden beams. There are four separate entrances. 

The interior layout has been altered over time, though the original staircase in the entrance hall remains intact. Today, the ground floor contains mostly communal and utility spaces, while the upper floors are used as residential areas. 

The building is connected to electricity, water and sewage systems. It also has central heating via a solid-fuel boiler, as well as telephone and lightning protection systems.

Structurally, the castle is in overall satisfactory condition but requires renovation and offers potential for modernization and individual adaptation.

According to the current zoning plan, the area is designated as a historic castle and park ensemble, primarily intended as a landscaped park with a residential and commercial use castle – particularly suited for gastronomy, culture, education, administration or communal living.

Its unspoiled and quiet location makes the property especially well-suited for use as a retirement residence, boutique hotel, cultural center or event venue with on-site dining and guest accommodations.
