Kounice castle is a stately four-wing Renaissance structure that evolved from a fortress, with later expansions and Baroque modifications.

In front of the Baroque portal on the main facade stand two majestic African warriors, the work of Bohemian sculptor Ferdinand Maximilian Brokoff, whose notable works include the statues on Prague's Charles Bridge.

The two-story wings with hipped roofs form an irregular square layout surrounding a large courtyard. The simple facades are punctuated by regularly arranged windows in stone frames. Original barrel vaults and lunettes have been preserved in the arcaded corridor and parts of the ground floor.

To the east, the estate connects to a large farmyard with substantial stables, including a Baroque storage building, the ruin of a stable with only the exterior walls and a vaulted cellar remaining, and another outbuilding with an annex and several bay windows on the upper floor.

Depending on the intended concept, the property offers up to 9,400 square meters of usable space.

Investment Opportunities

The castle, along with the farmyard and its buildings, is listed in the Central Register of Monuments of the Czech Republic under number 12839/2 – 1838. We are happy to provide information on funding opportunities. A local development plan designates the property as a "multifunctional area," allowing for the following potential future uses:

  • Residential Complex: Plans for a high-end residential complex were proposed many years ago but never realized. Due to its proximity to the Prague metropolitan area, this remains a viable development concept. Further small-scale constructions, such as garages, could be added in the course of residential use.

  • Service Buildings: Suitable for education, recreation, healthcare, sports, gastronomy, and hospitality.

  • Commercial Property: Ideal for businesses, provided they are not manufacturing operations.
