Polish country manor in Karczewo, close to Poznań

Beautiful countryside manor house a few km southwest of Poznan for sale. 

The building was erected in 1805-1811 for Mikołaj Mielżyński and rebuilt in 1908 for Józef Kęszycki by the famous architect Roger Sławski. 

Today's appearance is a one-story neo-baroque palace on a high basement with a developed attic, hipped roof and a mansard roof on the side wings. The main part shows a beautiful risalite, finished by a triangular tympanum with a cartouche with the Kęszycki coat of arms. 

In front of the main entrance there is a porch on cast-iron columns with a glass roof. Through the small vestibule they enter the entrance hall with representative staircase and open gallery. On the garden side, in the central part, there is a terrace with balustrade and a triangular tympanum. On the northeast side there is a tower with a conical dome. In addition to the main and side staircases, original paneling and historical details are still preserved inside.

The former manor house in Karczewo (until 1945 Schänkendorf) is located in the municipality of Kamieniec, Wielkopolska Voivodeship. The house and park are registered as protected cultural property:

• Palace (manor house) with reg. no.: 1499/A of 23.03.1994
• Landscape park with reg. no. 2557/A of 7.09.1995.

The total usable area of the palace building is about 1350 m².

The park with 3 ponds and monumental trees (oaks, chestnuts and beeches) has an area of 3.72 ha.

The property is connected to the local utilities (electricity, water, gas). A few years ago the current owner started renovation works, but they were not continued. Overall, there is a need for complete modernization and renovation.

Location:
The property is located in the Polish Wielkopolska Voivodeship. Karczewo is a typical former manor village in a rural location, yet only 40 km from the national capital, Poznan. The whole region is agricultural and characterized by many other country estates and old mansions. There is a good connection to the S5 expressway.
